From the beginning of the current millennium we exist in a universe where everyone has heard or experienced the internet, the same world is made up of a huge amount of websites that contain all the information that exists today. Each website is a collection of pages developed for a specific purpose – There are “simple” pages, “smart” pages, authors’ content pages, and more…
Each page launched on the site is developed on a database for the type of page, whether it is a simple page or an online product page that purchases for thousands of dollars
In this article, I will shed light on the differences between the main page types in the site – the page, template, and the post type. You have to be an expert to use them correctly, those who do not work their site correctly will be harmed later, we will not necessarily notice. For example, a page is a type of content that can contain any information, but to a certain limit, and if we crossed that limit, the database would no longer allow us to present relevant information.
PAGE – an information page that usually displays informative text, images. those are the basis of the page, when we are aware how much-planned content will contain – Like contact Page/ about us page that exists on almost every website on the network, a page that we know will have a short text about, contact form probably. The same goes for a page “about us”, which is usually a page that contains text information about the company and its employees. These two pages are static pages that developing once, their purpose is known in advance and these pages are no longer used for other purposes
Template – A page type includes dynamic content, that changes efficiently with no additional costs development and therefore is why it’s the way to build repetitive pages. A template is actually a page that can be duplicated and displayed in several places on the site with completely different texts and images, but still, maintain the same graphic language and layout of the page. For service pages, if I have 4 different service types I will ask my developer to develop a services template and then I duplicate the template to 4 different pages and adjust the content and images for each one individually. A Top header menu is also a template that takes a command to appear at the top of the whole page’s website.
Post-Type – A page that contains articles or large contents for a simple page. A post-type is typically appropriate for blogs, articles, and documents. The page will usually look the same as in a format, only with different text and images. Such as a site that contains guides each guide is an article in itself, but if we go into 5 different articles we will notice that their structure is exactly the same only with different texts
